Yummy Yum Yums!

Just picked up this bad boy at Quality Meats in midtown Manhattan.

It's full of peanut butter, whipped cream, cake, chocolate ice cream and other flavorful bits of chocolatey goodness.

I used this as an excuse to test the depth of field for the iPhone 4's camera. I like it. :)

This is one of the first photos I took with my iPhone 4. I wanted to get an idea of how effective the flash would be.

They say the best camera is the one you always have with you and your phone is certainly that. It is a passable photo experience in low light, but if you plan on using the flash, expect a lot of "red eye." The flash is super close to the camera lens and would often produce red eye in photos I took as well as video. I quickly removed the red eye from this photo, but you can obviously see that it was there. I didn't edit this photo much so those who are curious to see how an iPhone performs with the flash can see it with little photoshop.

I just started a HUGE project. I bought a scanner and I am importing all of my pre-digital photos into my Mac. I started tonight with my 1st photo album (165 pictures) and while working non-stop took a little over 3 hours. I have about 1000 pictures to go till I get right up to the digital era. I figure I'll do one photo album per day. It's actually a lot more work than I was expecting. Once I get them all in, then comes my need to photoshop some of them. Ouch.

Anyway, This photo is from a time when most people called me "Robbie." :-) This photo was later sketched by my Uncle Chris and is now framed and in our house back on the farm.

Since my old little vacuum ran away from me, I thought it was time get something that really says "I spent serious dollars on a very nerdy, yet really cool looking vacuum."

Honestly, if this little guy lasts longer than the 5 year warranty, I'll consider it money well spent.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I would rather have one quality product than a handful junky gear. The reviews I've read about Dyson products are extremely good and how can you argue with the sleek design of this bad boy?

Derrick asked me to take some photos of him to give to his fiancée (now wife) as a wedding present. The forecast called for rain, but instead it downpoured! When I asked him if he was still down for a shoot, he emphatically said "yes!" These are the photos from that shoot.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!!!

For Mother's Day 2010 I took a look back at some old photos and found this very early photo of my Mom and myself.

My goal for retouching this photo was to put more focus on the subjects, while retaining the 70's look and feel of a photograph from that time. I actually really like the specks of white on the left side of the photograph and I left them in intentionally to add character and age to the image. Aside from the white specks, I added more blur to the background to add more depth and to help the subjects to pop more. Once I washed away all the ugly yellow in the photo and tweaked the greens and magentas I've come to really love the color.

I just threw this together for fun. It's made from four photos combined into one. Keep in mind that the iPad 3G comes out a about a month after the wifi-only version. In a way, this iPad launch is only half done and is already one of the biggest events ever. :)
